I took this picture in the parking garage at work this morning. Seriously? It was the only license plate (if you can call it that) anywhere on the car. After some googling, I found out that it's fairly common to issue these types of tags in Georgia. The only thing that would've made it better is if it would have been on a PT Cruiser.

Hmmm, I could easily make those. Much cheaper than getting your tags every year. How do they know if they are legit? I saw no numbers or anything.

What da heck?? Seriously though, a Chrysler 300 is practically a PT Cruiser.
By the way, I consulted my cop husband and he said this is completely illegal.
Just in case you were interested... if not, don't read it. Homemade plates are sometimes used unlawfully by the vehicle owner to show a lawful application, possibly with a lost, stolen or damaged temp tag. Usually they are trying to get away with driving the car before they actually register the vehicle. The first sentence of the next paragraph sums it up.
T.C.A. 55-4-101 Registration required before operation.
(a) (1) As a condition precedent to the operation of any motor vehicle upon the streets or highways of this state,...
(2) The registration and the fees provided for registration shall constitute a privilege tax upon the operation of motor vehicles.
(e) The department, in its discretion, may grant a temporary permit to operate a vehicle for which application for registration has been made, where the application is accompanied by the proper fee pending action upon the application by the department.
T.C.A. 55-4-102.
The department shall furnish to the county clerks of the various counties forms for certificates of registration, which certificates shall contain upon their face blank spaces for the following information: the date issued; the full name and bona fide residence of the owner, including the residential street address and number or route and box number, or post office box number if the applicant has no residential street address; provided, however, that a post office box shall not be sufficient to establish an individual's bona fide residence; mailing address of the owner or business address of the owner if a firm, association, or corporation; the registration plate number assigned to the vehicle; and the description of the vehicle as determined by the commissioner.

(a) The department shall likewise furnish to the county clerks of the various counties of the state all registration plates of all types that may be required...
55-3-102. Driving or moving unregistered vehicle upon highway a misdemeanor — Exception. —
(a) It is a Class C misdemeanor for any person to:
(1) Drive or move or for any owner knowingly to permit to be driven or moved on any highway any vehicle of a type required to be registered under chapters 1, 2, this chapter and chapters 4-6 of this title that is not registered or for which the appropriate fee has not been paid when and as required under chapters 1, 2, this chapter and chapters 4-6 of this title;
