98% of the human genome is noncoding DNA. Termed junk DNA, this vast majority of all human DNA has no known biological function. Why would we have so much nonfunctional genetic material? Are these the instructions for superpowers that are waiting to be tapped or are they really just junk left over from millions of years of modification? I don't know about you, but I'm hoping for superpowers.

Water Bug
One of Harper's New Year's resolutions was to learn to swim without her floatie. To that end, she has been taking swimming lessons every day for the past 2 weeks. Last night was her last class.

Coach Kate
She can't quite swim on her own yet, but she's really close. I think one more set of lessons and she'll be doing laps in no time!
Way to go, Harper!! My kids always started off going from the steps (which were in the middle of the shallow end of the pool) over to one of the walls. The more they were in the water, the more comfortable they got! P.S. Love that towel! :)
Big congrats to Harper!! From the girl who always said she could totally swim, but really couldn't (now 34-years old and still in the shallow end). xo-m
