Until Next Year

Is anybody else glad that today is not Halloween? I am. I'm over it. We celebrated for a good three days straight. It was fun, but I'm glad it's over.

Harper feels differently. The first thing out of her mouth this morning was "trick-or-treat".

We did a little trick-or-treating last night. We hit about ten houses on our street, then headed home to give out candy. Harper said that she wanted to give all the kids candy and shake their hands. Future politician? I sure hope not.

These Boots Were Made For Walkin'

Well, I guess Nashville really is rubbing off on us. Last night our family was outfitted with real, genuine, cowboy boots (or as Harper likes to call her boots cowboy girl boots). Shoe shopping is not really my thing, but I have to say that I had a great time trying on all the boots.

Here's a picture of Harper trying on her boots. As my friend Ryan would say, it's a bad photograph but it's a good picture.

This is what we ended up with.

Sage is counting her lucky stars that we didn't come home with a pair for her.

I'm happy.

90

Today is my grandma's 90th birthday. 90. I can't even imagine it.

This was taken on the 4th of July this year. When's the last time you were on the back of a 4-wheeler?

My grandma is an awesome lady. You can read more about her here. I'm so glad I got some of her genes.

Spider Girl

Mom...I know I said I wanted to try this, but now I'm not so sure...

Ok, I think I'm getting the hang of it...

Hey...why don't you put your cell phone down and help me?

The end is in sight...

Must keep going...

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Thelma and Louise

Last night Harper and I got to have dinner with one of my old friends, Sarah, and her friend, Alice. I met Sarah when we were both 17. We were junior councilors at a summer camp. It's been about 10 years since I last saw her - mostly because she lives in England and I live...well...here. 10 years brings about a lot of changes. But it was nice to sit down and have dinner with someone and still be able to connect after all these years.

Alice, Harper, and Sarah

Sarah and Alice are doing something that most of us dream of doing but never actually do. They're on a month long cross country trek. They started in LA and have been winding their way east. Eventually, they'll end up in New York and fly back to England. How cool is that? I'll admit it. I'm pretty jealous.

Daily Reports

I love getting Harper's daily report from school each day. Without fail, there is always some funny comment about the antics that she pulled that day. Case in point:

Harper enjoyed learning about cows today! She also entertained everyone by using the water hose as a microphone as she sung!

You may also remember this one and this one.

Have I told you that I like this song?
I have?
Well, I'm telling you again.
