Not a picture of me, by the way.
98% of the human genome is noncoding DNA. Termed junk DNA, this vast majority of all human DNA has no known biological function. Why would we have so much nonfunctional genetic material? Are these the instructions for superpowers that are waiting to be tapped or are they really just junk left over from millions of years of modification? I don't know about you, but I'm hoping for superpowers.

Teeth Trauma
A fellow blogger reminded me of this story and I thought I would share it with you. I open things with my teeth. If I can't get something open with my hands, my first inclination is to use me teeth. Growing up, my mom warned me that if I kept doing that, one day I would break them. I didn't believe her. About three years ago I chipped my front tooth at work while trying to pry apart two glass microscope slides. It isn't very noticeable, but it just goes to prove that my mom is always right. About everything. Seriously.

I do the same things, then yell at my kids for doing it! I'll have to hang a copy of that picture on my fridge!
Ouch!!!!! That's probably going to give me nightmares tonight. You know about my teeth dreams, don't you? They are the scariest.
